Instead of gatorade, koolaid, or a mix, Dextrose and Maltodextrin could be a super cheap and really good alternative. Dextrose has 1 carb per gram and maltodextrin has 3.8 carbs per gram. They are commonly mixed together in water and then just add something like Mio for flavoring. There's a ton of science behind why these two sugars are really good for post workout shakes.
